Wheelchair Basketball is a fascinating sport and follows almost the same rules with Basketball of able-bodied athletes. The only differences are the following:
The total points (classification) of the five players that comprise the team should not be more than 14 points. If a team has more than 14 points, then it is debited with a technical sentence.
The athlete who has the ball is obliged to dribble, after he has done 2 impulses with his wheelchair. If the player makes a third impulse without dribbling, then he is debited with steps.
The athletes are obliged to follow some rules in relation to the wheelchair they use during the game. For this reason, the wheelchairs are checked before each game by the referees.

Categories of players / Classification
The athletes according to the degree of their disability are classified in categories/levels, which start from 4,5 (mild disability) and stop to 1 (severe disability). Thus we have 4,5 – 4,0 – 3,5 – 3,0 – 2,5 – 2,0 – 1,5 – 1,0. The players that each time play in a game, should not surpass the limit of 14 points.
During each game the first referee, who has the role of the Commissioner of the secretariat of the game, is responsible for the classification.
